Plant Bio

New Zealand’s Pellaea rotundifolia, or Button Fern, is a cheerful houseplant that takes its name from the round, leathery, dark-green leaflets that line its thin stems. Hailing from the woodlands and limestone cliffs of New Zealand and Australia, it is known for being a species that is not just pet-friendly, but well suited for beginner plant parents. Once its initial settling stage is complete, it is fairly easy-going for a fern. Water once every one to two weeks, when soil is at least halfway dry, and increase humidity with a pebble tray or humidifier if possible. It can grow long arching, foot-long fronds under these conditions!
