Hailing from the rainforests of Mexico’s Chiapas, the Ric Rac Cactus, Epiphyllum anguliger, is one of the most delightful and rewarding plants that you can care for. Alternatively known as the fishbone cactus, the zigzag cactus, or St. Anthony’s cactus, the fast-growing epiphyte boasts thick, leathery leaves in a serrated shape, which can trail more than 12 inches. In rare circumstances, it can produce a kiwi-like fruit or even a pink, yellow, or white night-blooming flowers. The cactus is also pet-friendly and extremely easy to grow: It is happiest when placed in bright indirect to direct sunlight and watered when dry.
